Haute Couture for Haiti Fashion Show

Nothing's better than doing something you love to help support a cause. The Haute Couture for Haiti Fashion Show brought together Toronto's elite up-and-coming designers in an effort to raise funds on behalf of Plan Canada for the devasted island of Haiti. The event drew a big crowd and showcased many of Toronto's next generation designers. It was inspiring being in the room with such talents as Kendra Francis of Franke, Brandon Dwyer and Lisa and Brian of Lizares. Here's some pics from the evening.


The fashion show showcased work from Sunny Fong's line Vawk, David Dixon, Franke, Lucian Matis, Jessica Biffi, Brandon R. Dwyer, and Aime and was held at the ever so classy, Roosevelt Room in the heart of the Entertainment District.

TCHAD Bai Ling Issue Launch Party

Ok, so this post is a wee bit late...but it's been a friggin busy month!! lol

TCHAD recently launched their Asian issue featuring Bai Ling. We went down to celebrate with them at Lobby. Here are some of the pics from the fabulous party...

Alexander McQueen Dead at 40!

British Designer Alexander McQueen found dead in his home. Check the article. McQueen's Spring/Summer 2009 show was spectacular with pieces that seemed to defy gravity. Another highlight of his genius was the hologram projection of Kate Moss in his Fall/Winter 2006 Show. Amazing!

The Word is Spreading...

Psst. PSSST! Some little birdie told another little birdie who told a Ms. Laura Connell, a local fashion blogger, who told an up-and-coming fashion photographer from Brittain, Alexander Willink , that there was a new stylist in town who had a fresh and unique eye!

But I ain't one to gossip, so you ain't heard nothing from me! Better let nobody say nothin' bout Ms. Jenkins! (In Living Color; circa 1991.)

Long story short, after a brief discussion Alexander and I decided to collaborate on a shoot for our portfolios. It was a great experience working in the studio and with such professionals. Thank you Oli and Grace! You did a great job! Nicki of Mango Tango Make Up Designs, thanks for working with me on a direction.
