Style Makeover - Before & After! (Episode 2)

Featured Elevated Client - Ethan W.

Meet Ethan.
A jack of all trades on a journey to pack as much life into his moment on this tiny blue speck as possible.  This wanderer has always been a bit of a conundrum.  He'll admit it.  He walks to the beat of a different drum, and I've always respected him for it.  Ethan was always aware of the lanes that he was supposed to travel in, but like me, he never cared much for keeping to the status quo.

However, there came a time when Ethan wanted to explore who he was image-wise. Just who did he want the man in the mirror to look like?  Elevations just seemed like a great jumping off point for him.  He knew he had the confidence to be anything, so with the help of Elevations, he explored several looks, all of which he pulled off gracefully.  That is, until the day we found a look that a man could stand on.

Elevations taught Ethan that sometimes, a name is just that...a name.  Brand names are not the secret to developing your style.  Style is born out of creativity.  Looking at the frame that you have to work with and picking combinations of looks that all work for you without having to rely on flashy logos or monograms or big price tags to let people know that you've arrived.  Ethan loves the way the guy in the mirror looks (and so do his friends) and loves getting up in the morning and raiding his closet.  He has the look down, he knows that that's the 55%.  One less thing to worry about when he wows the world with the other 45%.  He's a downtown guy, who now has a downtown look.

See for yourself...Check out Ethan before...

And now, meet the Elevated Ethan...

Elevations Style Review: Join The Rebellion!

Hello Fashion Fanatics,

If you're anything like us here at Elevations, you know the importance of staying in the mainstream lane of current trends, but also understand that true style comes from experimentation and the fusion of what the market tells you is hot and your own individual personality.  This is how you make fashion distinctly your own.

If you know this, you also know that fashion and style does not descend from the houses of the fashion gods, but originates on the streets and gravitates upwards until those same houses adopt them and transcend them for presentation to the world.  This is why I wanted to bring your attention to a home-grown jewelry company that has caught my eye.

Born Rebellion has redesigned a classic piece of jewelry that has had great popularity throughout the years, the identity bracelet, most recently trending in the 80s.  The designers at Born Rebellion, have modernized the look.  This is not the bracelet for your little neice or nephew.  This is a chunky, bold, game changer that is a true "Rebel" compared to it's previous contemporaries.  Although, this piece is big and at home with that casual urban look, it still has the class to be dressed up, and looks good under any man's suit, or on any girl's wrist coupled with her boyfriend-styled watch.

With 3 colour options (silver, gold, and black), with two additional variations to those colours (matte or shiny finish), there is a bracelet style for everyone.  Beautiful in its simplicity, this throwback piece is a welcome addition to anyone who is looking to add a little edge to their wrist game.

I got mine!  Here's a couple shots to show you what I'm dealing with.  Check out their collection and pick the right one for you.  Don't be afraid to break the mold, fashion fanatics!  You can always rage against the machine, just remember to do it in style!

Love the packaging!

The Original "Rebel" Bracelet Black Colour Shiny Finish

Love the size and weight
Secure lock clasp to ensure that item won't easily drop off your wrist if it opens.

All black errrythang!

What's that?  You want to see how the gold looks for her?  OK!

The Beginning of a Lifetime of Love - Elevated!

Elevations' Love Letter to Love

Elevations is always honoured and humbled to be asked to help introduce new couples to the world as they prepare for their unions and endeavour to show the world the visual encapsulation of their over-abundant love for each other.  Through these pics, you can feel the essence of the love between each couple and the excitement in their eyes as they prepare to traverse their lifelong journey together.

For those of you who have experienced this, you know that capturing these moments is always a wondrous and magical thing.  Being a part of these moments, at times, inspires our best work.  We understand that these pictures will be shared with friends and families and all of those who support the love reflected in these images for the lifetime of that couple and beyond.  We understand that their children, and grandchildren will look to these images to help define their idea of what the perfect love looks like. This is the magic that Elevations attempts to brighten with the adornments that best display each individual's personality, but still reflect on the fact that they will be walking together and will always compliment each other as they walk hand in hand.

Please, bear witness to the beginnings of a few lifetimes together that we had the good fortune to Elevate!

Fall 2014 - Elevations x Banana Republic x General Electric Women's Network

Hello Fall Fashion Fans,

Elevations and Banana Republic show the General Electric Women's Network (GEWN) the Impact of their Image!  This love affair of ours works out great for the women of GE.  This time we gave them part 2 of building an impactful image, and then spent some time showing the ladies how to mix and match their basics and on-trend items to make several looks with the same pieces.

OK, OK!  I'll share one nugget of information that I gave to the GEWN!  Ready?  Well with this knowledge... You will be now!

Top 5 Fashion Trends for Fall 2014

1.  Texture of the Season:  Metallic-inspired Accessories and Clothing

Metallic pattern mixes are making a bold resurgence this fall.  You’ll see that liquid metal gloss on shoes and handbags, as well as belts, and it will even make it’s way into skirts and more clothing as we move into the festive season.

 2.  Colour of the Season:  Deep Red \ Burgundy
Last year it was green in emerald hues.  This season, it’s eye popping reds and strong burgundies.  You can understate it if you’re still developing your “colour courage”.

3.  Prints & Patterns

Floral prints with intricate HD detail will be big for fall.  Bold Patterns will also stay on trend this year (houndstooth).  Go with one Bold print or pattern in anything from a dress to an accessory.

4.  Stripes

This season, almost feels like “anything goes” as stripes make a triumphant return.  Feels like they never left!

5.  Comfort Knits and Isle Patterns
Comfort is the buzzword on all of the runways this season.  Take advantage, ladies.  Stock up on your knits.  And when the snow comes, don’t be caught without at least 1 or 2 Fair Isle patterned sweaters.  If done right, these casual looks can still be dressed up for work.

Special thanks to our incomparable dessert caterers The Creative Cakery, as well as the lovely ladies from Lovelee Promotions and Crystal Head Vodka for keeping us all lubricated!  Please check out the Creative Cakery on Instagram!  Their desserts were the true stars of the evening.
