Elevations Introduces THESE KIDZ WEAR CROWNS

Hello Style Conquerors!

2018 is upon us!  New things for you, and new things for me this year!  We're still @ it, stylin' and profilin', but this year, we wanted to showcase the fashion newbies.  No, I'm not talking about those who are looking to review their style points to return to the cutting edge of style (I'm ALWAYS available for help with that!).  I'm referring to the young kids who are discovering their style for the first time.  Future trend-setters who are redefining the game for a whole new population.

@TheseKidzWearCrowns is a movement.  We plan on showcasing some of our future taste-makers.  Those kids who we believe "got next".  Not just because they are so adorable or because they are rocking the looks we put them in, but because they are all exploring their magic in a positive way.  Role models in the making with drive and focus for what they love.

@TheseKidzWearCrowns

TKWC will showcase these bright sparks through a collective of style, art, music, and cinematography, promoting brands, and a positive message.  Check out our site to see what we're doing, how we're doing it, and why we're doing it!  Get involved.  Get in touch with us @ thesekidzwearcrowns@gmail.com or DM us, and let us know what your kids are doing that helps them stand out from the crowd.  Your child could be chosen for an upcoming style session and photoshoot for TKWC.

In the meantime, here's some behind the scene's footage with our current star @swagsunn (a.k.a. Jaemy Orion Phoenix).  As well, watch the full length video of why I got involved with this project.

Stay Tuned... @TheseKidzWearCrowns has a lot more in store for you!

MTailor - The Best Shirt You're About To Own

Hey guys!  By now, if your Instagram feed is fashion-centric like mine is, you would’ve seen several advertisements for a new custom-clothing company called MTailor.  If you’re like me, you got excited a few years back when online custom shirt companies started popping up and you pulled the trigger because you thought that this miracle would change your life and upgrade your wardrobe from the comfort of your couch.  If you’re like me... you were greatly disappointed with the results.
https://www.mtailor.com/

Rightfully so, as the words “on-line” and “custom-fit” don’t really seem to make any kind of sense if there’s no one actually taking 24 measurements to ensure that the garments are precisely carved to your unique and specific physique.  There’s a reason why you go to a tailor to get the best suit you’ve ever dawned.

That was then...  This is now.  Like all things, it takes time, and understanding of your clientele’s needs to get things right.  In the case of online shopping, it also takes technology, in order to eliminate the middle-man.

Enter, MTailor.  These guys have managed to utilize your smartphone camera to take a video of you that allows them to precisely take the measurements required to provide you with, as they call it, “the best fitting shirt you own”.

As a stylist who understands the importance of the interaction with a skilled, qualified tailor, I guffawed a snobbish “pshaw!”.  So I reached out to MTailor and dared them to prove me wrong.

I stood in my boxer-briefs in front of my cell phone (which believe it or not in this day and age, was a new experience for me) and rotated in front of the camera as per instruction.  Mind you, the whole time, I was thinking, “am I going to end up on some comedy website, or as a gag reel for the MTailor staff and then eventually YouTube with the caption “Foolish stylist disrobes and thinks we can make a shirt by him spinning around on video”!

I placed the order with the selection of my specific preferences anyway, along with my strange video.  3 weeks later, my magical shirt appeared at my door.

Real talk, people... This is one of the best fitting shirts I own.  At first look, I was skeptical as there are specific things about this shirt that only a bespoke tailor would bother paying attention to.  For example, through the selection process, I was asked which wrist I wear my watch on.  I told them without thinking much of it.  When I received my shirt, I realized that the wrist opening on the left wrist (which is the correct wrist to wear a watch on for any gentleman) was slightly bigger than the right.  It just makes sense.

Look guys, it’s time.  I’m here to let you know that “custom-fit” and “on-line” do go together.  MTailor has figured it out.  You want to find a reasonably priced (starting @ $69) custom-fit shirt or suit (yes, they do suits too, starting @ $499), but don’t want to get off your couch and are already in your underwear, then download the free MTailor app and do the custom measurements dance.  3 weeks later, you’ll be thanking Elevations, and MTailor.
I would say that this is a great holiday gift idea for a loved one, but good luck getting them to do the dance without knowing the reason why (unless they’re into that kind of thing). Either way, it’s a great holiday gift for yourself.

Elevations has partnered with MTailor to provide you with a promo code that provides you $20 discount on your first order.  The promo code is "elevations".
Step your game up, guys.  Nothing says I have my expletive together like a shirt that looks like it was sculpted to your body.  Take it from a guy who gets most of his shirts taken in.  This is a much better (affordable) option.

Fall 2014 - Elevations x Banana Republic x General Electric Women's Network

Hello Fall Fashion Fans,

Elevations and Banana Republic show the General Electric Women's Network (GEWN) the Impact of their Image!  This love affair of ours works out great for the women of GE.  This time we gave them part 2 of building an impactful image, and then spent some time showing the ladies how to mix and match their basics and on-trend items to make several looks with the same pieces.

OK, OK!  I'll share one nugget of information that I gave to the GEWN!  Ready?  Well with this knowledge... You will be now!

Top 5 Fashion Trends for Fall 2014

1.  Texture of the Season:  Metallic-inspired Accessories and Clothing

Metallic pattern mixes are making a bold resurgence this fall.  You’ll see that liquid metal gloss on shoes and handbags, as well as belts, and it will even make it’s way into skirts and more clothing as we move into the festive season.

 2.  Colour of the Season:  Deep Red \ Burgundy
Last year it was green in emerald hues.  This season, it’s eye popping reds and strong burgundies.  You can understate it if you’re still developing your “colour courage”.

3.  Prints & Patterns

Floral prints with intricate HD detail will be big for fall.  Bold Patterns will also stay on trend this year (houndstooth).  Go with one Bold print or pattern in anything from a dress to an accessory.

4.  Stripes

This season, almost feels like “anything goes” as stripes make a triumphant return.  Feels like they never left!

5.  Comfort Knits and Isle Patterns
Comfort is the buzzword on all of the runways this season.  Take advantage, ladies.  Stock up on your knits.  And when the snow comes, don’t be caught without at least 1 or 2 Fair Isle patterned sweaters.  If done right, these casual looks can still be dressed up for work.

Special thanks to our incomparable dessert caterers The Creative Cakery, as well as the lovely ladies from Lovelee Promotions and Crystal Head Vodka for keeping us all lubricated!  Please check out the Creative Cakery on Instagram!  Their desserts were the true stars of the evening.

Summer 2013 - Elevations is at it again! Second Cover!

It's been a while fashion-fans!  We've missed you too, but Elevations has been busy, so I hope this post will make up for lost time once you see what we've gotten into.

When last we spoke, I had gotten my first cover with Revive Magazine and had two features in their magazine.  Well, along with keeping our regular clients happy while prepping them for Spring/Summer, Revive Magazine commissioned us for a second cover.  The first time was so nice, they wanted us twice!   Just like last time, we did a second feature in their summer issue also!  The issue is on newsstands across Canada now!

This quarter we showcased CTV's "The Listener"s Lauren Lee Smith, and the cast of HGTV's Decked Out, starring Paul Lafrance.

Here are some behind-the-scenes shots from the shoot!  Enjoy.

We always have so much fun on our shoots!  Check out what goes on behind-the-scenes to get the perfect shot.  Click the link below:

The Decked Out Crew was some of the most fun we've had on a shoot.  They were all funny and were humble enough to not take themselves too seriously.  I even made an appearance in one of the shots, but you'll have to pick up the magazine in order to see it.  Enjoy the behind-the-scene's video.  Click the link below:
On a final note, it's great to be appreciated.  Brad Smith, Canada's first TV Bachelor, stays instagram-busy!  Recently, he has posted 4 photos from our photo shoot, citing that our shoot was one of his "favourite shoots of all time!!!".  On behalf of my contribution, Thanks Brad!  Click the links to see the shots!
What's next for Elevations?... We'll continue to make Toronto look better, one person at a time.  Demand for our services is so high, we decided to expand a bit!  Elevations will be venturing into the corporate arena so that we can also make Toronto look better, one company at a time!  Stay tuned!...
